For the last three days I have been working on a cel shader that does things like I want it to.  One of the things about all of the cel shaders that are available in lightwave is that they are not really affected by the luminosity of the lights, the shadows they make are but the color and brightness do not change…

Let me post an example.

Notice that the body is covered with the darkest shadow but that shadow is the same level even at 100 percent light. To change this I would have to go and change the base color for each light level for all cel shaded objects in the scene!

Here is a sample of my nodal cel shader.

Notice as the light gets darker the colors also darken. Color of the light also plays a role

  3. Dude, thanks tons! I have worked on my own cell shading node setup and couldn’t get it so that lights affected the final surface. Awesome of you to share this.
